Mar 30 2008 - Athletes Excel at 2008 Atlantic Indoor Championships
Moncton, N.B., March 29, 2008: Twenty-four athletes from the Saint John Track Club made a strong showing at the Atlantic Indoor Championships this past weekend in Moncton. This event, the last for the 2008 indoor track and field season, featured nearly 200 competitors from N.B., N.S. and PEI. The club had many strong individual performances and personal bests.
Congratulations to Sarah Cummings (a first time competitor and youngest at the meet) and other first time competitors Natalie & Julia Mullins, Kalen Mawer, Greg & Sarah Kean. Congrats as well to those who challenged themselves in new events like shot put (Natalie, Davis, Gregor and Zach), hurdles (Greg & Sarah) and high jump (Kalen & Julia). Below were those who managed to achieve top 3 finishes.

Canadian runners won three of the four events in both the individual and team races with team wins in Junior Men/Women and Senior Women. SJTC runner Barry Britt had an outstanding race with a sixth place finish in the Junior Men. Way to go Barry!!! Other NB Runners also performed very well. Geneviève Lalonde of Moncton, N.B. was sixth in the Junior Women event. Joel Bourgeois of Grande-Digue, N.B.was seventh in the Senior Men.
