Sep 29 2011 - Sport Coach Clinic (Old level 1)

Athletics New Brunswick, UNBSJ Varsity Reds - Track and the Saint John Track Club are offering the introductory NCCP course in athletics, called Sport Coach.  This course introduces the coach to the basics of all of the event areas in track & field as well as covering principles of athlete development, training design, and many other topics.

WHEN:          November 25-27, 2011

WHERE:        Campus of UNB Saint John

COST:           $100

The registration includes the course materials, which include a course workbook, a reference guide and a DVD full of videos and resources for all areas of track & field.  The course uses a combination of interactive classroom learning and hands-on activity sessions to give coaches first-hand experience with the techniques and training methods used in all areas of athletics.  Coaches should come prepared to actively take part in learning skills and drills in running, jumping and throwing events.

Sep 22 2011 - JD Irving Cross Country Meet - High School/Mid School

J.D. Irving Invitational - Middle & High School Cross Country Meet

Over 250 Middle and High School athletes from across southern NB came together to compete at the 6th Annual Invitational Cross Country Meet. It was held at the J.D. Irving Ltd Park in West Saint John and organized by the Saint John Track Club. Results from the events were as follows. 11 local area middle schools and 12 high schools competed in the various races.

Sep 20 2011 - Barry Britt 3rd in Seattle

SJTC's Barry Britt finished third at the prestigious Sundodger Invitational cross-country meet Saturday.

The University of Idaho junior finished the 8-kilometre course in 24 minutes, 14.36 seconds.

He led the parade of four Idaho Vandals to place in the top 10. Way to go Barry!
 

Sep 17 2011 - Matt McNeil - 2nd place at first Atlantic University Race

Matt McNeil ran a strong race in his first competition with the Dal Tigers cross country team. Competing at the SMU invitational he ran mid pack for much of the race then gaining to challenge the leader in the final kilometer and placing a strong second. Congrats Matt.

Sep 17 2011 - UNB - Cross Country - Season off to a busy start
