Dec 18 2011 - Last Chance meet Dec 18 2011 - SJTC Athletes Set provincial Records at Last Chance Meet Over 120 athletes took part in Saturday’s Last Chance Meet in Moncton. This being the last track and field indoor meet of 2011 meant that athletes who are changing age categories in 2012 had one last crack at breaking provincial age class records. And did they ever take full advantage of the opportunity! An astonishing 12 New Brunswick record fell. The following SJTC athletes set new marks in their events. As well a number of SJTC athletes set personal bests at the meet setting the tone for a strong indoor season after Christmas. -Mitch Quigg (SJTC) establish a new mark in the junior shot with a toss of 14.33m -Anthony Cormier (SJTC) broke the Midget Boys Triple jump record with a leap of 12m17 Full results can be found : http://anb.ca/Results/view-results.php?id=483 The next meet on the schedule is the Moncton Open that will be held at the CEPS from January 14-15th. Dec 2 2011 - CIS Academic All Canadians We are pleased to advise that Ali Kilisli & Laurette Nwaonumah have been named to the CIS Academic All-Canadian Honor Roll for the 2010-11 Track & Field and Cross Country Season. Athletes receive this special award for achieving and academic standing of 80% or better while playing on a university varsity team. The award also comes with a monetary prize. Their certificate will be presented at the UNB Saint John Varsity Awards Banquet in March. Congratulations on being model varsity athletes! |
