Saint John Track Athletes Chosen for Hershey North American Championships

Five NB athletes have qualified to compete in the 2010 Hershey North American Track & Field Championships in Hershey, PA in August, including three from the Saint John area.

Congratulations to SJTC athletes: Attending for his second time will be 14 year old Josh Shanks, who will compete in the boys13-14 1600m race. Joining him are Pierre Dumouchel who will compete in the 13-14 boys 800m

Also from Saint John area the boys will be joined by  Sarah Kean who will compete in the 11-12 Girls 800m. Rounding out the team will be Andrew Leblanc and Jack Bershire from Fredericton both of whom are return to Hershey for the second time.

Hershey Foods Corporationcovers all expenses associated with this trip. The Hershey program is open to boys and girls aged 9-14 in all 50 states and across Canada. It is designed to encourage physical fitness among youth and emphasize sportsmanship. It has become the largest youth sports program of its kind in North America with over 400,000 participants.
