Athletes are introduced to all areas of track and field, including:

  • Sprints and relays

  • Middle distance running

  • Long jump and triple jump

  • High jump

  • Throws (shot put, javelin, etc.)

  • Basic movement, agility, and coordination skills

Event focus increases as athletes move into higher-level groups.

4. Where are practices held?

Training takes place at various local facilities depending on the season, including indoor and outdoor venues in the Saint John area such as the Irving Oil Field House and Canada Games Stadium.

5. How often are practices?

Most programs train 2 times per week, typically on weekday evenings. Competitive groups may have additional training sessions depending on the season and competition schedule.

6. Does the club participate in competitions?

Yes. Athletes have the opportunity to participate in local, regional, and provincial meets. Competitive athletes may also qualify for higher-level competitions depending on performance and age group.

7. What should my child bring to practice?

Athletes should bring:

  • Running shoes (appropriate for indoor or outdoor use)

  • Comfortable athletic clothing

  • Water bottle

  • Weather-appropriate gear (for outdoor sessions)

Spikes may be introduced for older or competitive athletes when appropriate.
