Bill MacMackin has been a driving force in the development and growth of track and field in Saint John and across Canada. As President of the Saint John Track & Field Club since 2015, he has helped guide the club through a period of major growth, strengthening programs, expanding participation, and supporting athletes from introductory levels through to national competition.

A lifelong advocate for the sport, Bill has been deeply involved in athletics for decades. He played a key role in the revival and rebuilding of the club in the early 2000s, helping lay the foundation for what has become one of Atlantic Canada’s leading track and field organizations. His leadership has focused on creating opportunity, improving access to quality facilities, and building a strong, sustainable athlete development pathway.

At the provincial and national level, Bill has served in several leadership roles, including as Chair of the Board of Athletics Canada and in senior positions with Athletics New Brunswick. Through these roles, he has contributed to shaping the direction of the sport nationally while ensuring Atlantic Canadian athletes and clubs are well represented.
