Welcome to the Saint John Track & Field Club, where athletes of all ages and abilities come together to train, compete, and grow. From first time participants to high performance athletes, our programs build confidence, development, and a lifelong love of the sport. With experienced coaches and a strong community, we help every athlete reach their potential one step, jump, throw, and wheel at a time!


Beginners - Run Jump Throw Wheel

The Run Jump Throw Wheel program is the perfect introduction to track and field for young athletes, combining movement, play, and foundational skill development in a fun and inclusive environment.

Program Details

  • Ages: 6–10 years

  • Mondays & Thurdays 5:00-6:00 PM

  • Focus on the ABC’s: Agility, Balance and Coordination

  • Play-based program designed to introduce track and field events, including adapted activities for wheelchair athletes

  • Emphasis on fun, skill development, and overall fitness

  • Learn fundamental running, jumping, and throwing skills


Intermediate - Junior Development

The Intermediate Junior Development Group is designed for athletes ready to move beyond the basics and develop their skills in a focused, fun and supportive environment. Participants are introduced to a wide range of track and field events while continuing to build strong fundamentals, confidence, and enjoyment of the sport. This group is a great next step for athletes interested in school competition or those looking to challenge themselves and improve.

Program Details

• Ages: 10–13 years

Mondays and Thursdays, 5:00–6:00 PM

• Exposure to a variety of track and field events in a group setting

• Opportunity to compete through school teams or for personal goals

• Focus on building technique, confidence, and athleticism

• Supportive team environment that encourages participation and growth


Competitive Group

The Competitive Group is designed for athletes ready to train and compete at a higher level, providing structured, event-specific coaching to support performance development across all disciplines. Athletes train in a focused environment with clear goals, skill progression, and competition preparation, helping them build the strength, speed, and technical ability needed to excel at school, provincial, and higher-level competitions.

Program Details

• Ages: 14+

Mondays and Thursdays, 6:00–7:30 PM

• Occasional Saturday sessions (as confirmed by coach)

• Event-specific training in distance, sprints/hurdles, jumps, and throws

• Structured, competitive training environment

• Opportunities to compete at school and recreational meets

• Pathway toward provincial team selection as athletes progress


Masters Group

The Masters Group is designed for adult athletes looking to train, compete, and stay active in a supportive environment.

Program Details

• Ages: 30+

Mondays and Thursdays, 5:00–7:30 PM

• Occasional Saturday sessions (as confirmed by coach)

• Open to masters athletes of all experience levels

• Focus on fitness, fun, and event-specific training

• Emphasis on building endurance, speed, strength, and mental preparation

• Opportunities to participate in recreational competitions


Road Runner Group

The Road Runner Group is built for adult endurance athletes who want structured training for road running, triathlon, and other endurance events, whether they are training for performance, fitness, or recreation.

Program Details

• Ages: 30+

Mondays and Thursdays, 5:00–7:30 PM

• Occasional Saturday sessions (as confirmed by coach)

• Endurance training for road running, triathlon, and other events

• Focus on event-specific preparation and development

• Emphasis on building endurance and mental strength

• Opportunities for participation in recreational competitions
